Wardak is a beautiful province, I should know, I am from it! :lol:

But in the past, it was actually 2 major cities - Wardak and Maidan Shahr. I am from Maidan Shar. There was a jirga to vote to whom the name of the province should go to, and they agreed upon Wardak as being the Wilayat and Maidan Shahr it's capital.

I have a video from Maidan. It is beautiful scenery. Maidan has many rolling hills, chinar trees as far as the eye can see, and lush agricultural land, and natural springs. I wish one day to visit and take photos and insha'Allah share with everyone.

Maidan has a reputation for having the best apples & pears.

Seeing pictures of Afghanistan doesn't really have that affect on me since I've never been there, but that makes me feel even more sad and empty inside. :(
